Barattolino in legno - Wooden jar

Ciao a tutti!

Hello!
I'm a bit better and I must say that this cold made me do a lot of creative things, cos in the last days I worked a lot, trying techniques and materials I never used before :-D
For example acrylic colours... I know, they existed for years, but I never really trusted them and I never tried them before... Imagine the face of the man in the shop when, suspicious, I asked him "How do you use them? è_é " !
On Pam's blog "My Country Home", I saw a lot of interesting things (like on all your blogs *.* ), and among them I saw a big passion for the shabby chic, that, before knowing her, I called "those beautiful things, of that colour, that seem old, but they aren't" !
So, again, I looked around, studied, took informations about what to use and how to use it, and acrylic colours were in the list, and I started working again... But first of all I protected the kitchen table, cos I know my destructive power... I'll talk about it one day ;-)
I did the first experiment on a little cardboard box, but it was shining, so when I finished I could peel the colours away, like a skin! XO
So I remembered about a little wooden jar I bought with other three like it, I decorated with fimo clay...
I followed all the instructions I could find, I even learned how to use sandpaper and finally, with decoupage, I sticked lilac rice paper flowers...
This is the result, what do you think about it? :-)

Ri-ciao a tutti! :-*

With the jar you can also see a stool, a bit of our grating and the mosquito net, which don't seem old, cos someone worked on them with the shabby chic technique, but they look old, cos actually they really are XD
And in the right corner at the bottom you can even see a bit of Uapa's foot (soon I'll show you my current socks... XD ) !
After this first jar, I'll keep for me, I ran at the cellar to take the other three and re-transform them, with this technique :-D
I hope you'll like it @'.'@ , but if you want to suggest something or give me an advice, i'll be happy :-)
Bye all! :-*

> Autunno! - Autumn!

Buongiorno!
Castagne (arrostite o lesse ^^ ), noci, nocchie, uva, cachì, funghi, olio (bruschette ^^ ), vino... Uapa, golosa com'è diventata, potrebbe perdersi fra sagre e degustazioni!
I pettirossi ritornano e... Lo so, lo so, non migrano, ma diventano ancora meno timidi all'arrivo dei primi freddi e come può non piacermi la presenza di questo piccolo uccellino?
Inoltre le scuole ricominciano e quei crimin... Demon... Delinq...
E a voi cosa piace dell'Autunno? :-)

Hello!
Even if I'm secretely counting down the days, for Summer to come back, today I'm here to welcome Autumn, with this little drawing I made with Paint :-) I know, I can just use Paint XD
I want to think about all those things I like of the Autumn, so I'll feel less sad :-)
First of all colours!
An explosion of yellow, gold, orange and brown, intense colours that hugs and cuddle you, and still give you a warm feeling illusion, before Winter arrives...
Did you know during this months (even here in Italy, even if it's not much usual) a lot of people go Leaf Watching?
According to where they live and to the type of trees there are in a certain place, they organise visits to take pictures of the leaves on the trees when they change colour, in the best moments and with the best light to see wonderful sceneries :-)
And shall I talk about smells and flavours?
Chestnuts (roasted or boiled ^^ ), walnuts, knuckles, grape, persimmons, oil (toasted bread ^^ ), wine... Uapa became so glouttonous she could loose herself in fears and tasting festivals!
Robins come back and... Ok, I know they never go away, but when cold starts coming back they become even less shy and I love so much the company of this little bird!
And school starts again and those crimin... Devi... Delinq... Snott eeehm children who live near me will stop destroying gardens and torture mum cat and her kittens ^^
And what do you like about Autumn? :-)

> Quadernino - little exercise book

Ecco, è esattamente quello che accade a me...
A volte è davvero dura resistere...
You know when you go ina hobby shop and you'd like to buy and decorate everything?
That's exactly what happens to me... So everytime I go there, cos "I just need to buy a green package of Fimo clay, cos it's finished", I buy something totally different to try new techniques, starting thinking i should go there with covered eyes and ask the man in the shop to bring me just what I need!
Sometimes it's really hard to resist...
For example, the other day I turned towards a shelf from which...

...LUI mi stava chiamando...
... HE was calling me...

I really couldn't leave it there, all alone and abandoned! So I put it in my basket, wondering how to decorate it.
Keeping thinking about it, a new choir of little voices started saying "Buy us, buy us!" and guess who it was?

THEM! A package of tissues I'd never use to blow my nose, not even if... Ehm, no, better to not say that bleargh :-S

Ormai ero quasi arrivata all'uscita eppure mancava ancora qualcosa all'appello...
I nearly arrived at the exit, but there was still something missing... "Us!" some dried flower whispered from another shelf in a corner...

And now, you know when, after you bought all what you need, you feel like wanting to work at your project immediately, trying to fit the various commitments you have to not wait even one minute more to start creating?
Good, if you know what' I'm talking about, you already know what Uapa did as soon as she arrived home...
Cut here swish swish stick there sglue sglue no! Not glue on the chair! Cibug gloogle push away air bubbles frup frup flat well the tissue spatash spatash water and glue squeeze brgnutt dried flowers are delicate gratt gratt wooooosh wooooosh!
And that's the result, what do you think about it?

Ora devo solo decidere come usarlo! :-O
Actually I obtained a strange shining effect, but I don't know how, but it's ok anyway, cos this little exercise book is a little gift I made to myself... Now i just need to decide how to use it! :-O

PS: You're lucky, you can admire the only tidy corner on Uapa's working table! It's a rare event, keep it like a treasure, one day you could say "I was there too, I saw it" ! :-)

> Feltro - Felt

:-S , XX: Eh no... °_° ') e mi sono messa all'opera.
I feel like an old lady, everyday I have some new pain: yesterday low pressure, today sore throat and aching neck... Argh! XD
So today I type with a big jar of honey near me ^^
Some post ago I told you about some scrap felt mum used to make soft toys... But not being able to sew (and knowing mum is too busy to teach it to a stubborn girl like me), I just used the little scraps...
But looking on the net, I found a lot of interesting sites and blogs where people can do everything with felt... And I saw such beautiful creations that... Oh well, if I work a while on it, maybe I'll manage to do some little thing too, right?!
So, patient and stubborn, I studied a lot of tutorials, watched a lot of Youtube videos and finally I decided: I took felt, needle, string and 9000kg of sintetic cotton (Uapa: Do you have a smaller package? :-S , XX: No... , Uapa: What if I'm not able to sew? °_° ') and I started working.
I was expecting the worse things to happen: holes, knots, curling and incredibly raveling felt...
Here are my first two creations instead ^^

A little heart and a pear that will be two keyrings ^^

Ovviamente li terrò per me, perché ancora non so bene come fare i nodi di chiusura, né come nasconderli, quindi ogni volta mi invento un modo diverso che impapocchia un po' tutto! XD
Obviously I'll keep them for me, cos I don't know yet how to close the knots or how to hide them, so everytime I invent a new way to do that and the result isn't really great! XD
Anyway these two attempts made me satisfied, so I really think I'll keep trying ^^
In fact, I already kept doing that and I made my first official work with felt :-D
My little cousin Francesca in few days will have her baby ^^
So I decided to make a ribbon for the door or for her bedroom, hoping she'll like it... If she doesn't she can always throw it against someone she finds unpleasant, but let's say that would make me a bit less happy... -_- '

The heart is made of white glittery felt; it's sewn with pink string and filled with part of the 9000kg of sintetic cotton.
The name, Ilenia (as Francesca says: "With all i!" :-) ), has been the second most difficult thing, cos, if in the shop the colour tube could write in a perfect way, at home it started giving me problems... So many problems, that for a while I thought about learning how to sew the name or even wanted to paint it with a marking pen! But in the end I won ^^'
The ribbon is the other difficult thing: I'm not really able to make ribbons, not even with shoe strings, imagine with a sort of net of some unknown material! Believe me, all the few and unsure things I knew about ribbons crumbled down and I kept staring at the net, trying to remember even the most simple knot for twenty minutes >.< ' and even now I don't really know how I could manage to do that! But I remember I used a lot of glue inside the knot to fix it, cos I don't know if I'll be able to do that again! XD
The decorations on the heart are handmade, but not by me, I just bought them... Little flowers, little shoes, little rattle and little dress, all pink of course, and in the little frame you can read "It's a girl!" :-)
To finish, I sewn that all (inventing knots! But they're quite strong XD) on pink rafia that's the hanger to put it all on the door; the rafia is decorated with a pink Fimo bead I made rough with big salt and it has two silvery flower-beads on the end ^^

Che dite, le piacerà? :-$
Do you think she'll like it? :-$

> Orecchini in Panno Lenci - Felt earrings

The last place where mum worked, until I was a child, was a laboratory in Piazza Tommasini, in Rome, where they made soft toys, pajamas keepers, pochettes and various soft things.
For a certain time mum kept working from home, making a lot of different soft toys, accepting my little and clumsy help... It was so beautiful to see her working with expert hands, and such a creative and coloured work!

I also had a lot of fun when we went visiting her ex work mates. That laboratory was wonderful in my opinion: the shop so full of handmade works and the three working rooms where the the floor was a bit ruined, the old and big wooden desks... A door-window on the square, decorated with an AS Roma supporter Smurf... Thousands of Bic pens to sign measures, the noise of the sewing machines and of the scissors, music coming from an old radio as background to people's chats... The smell of hot glue and of all the fabrics... Multicolored fabrics, furry fabrics, wool, cotton, felt, disposed on really high shelves... Boxes full of buttons, dummie's eyes and noses, coloured ribbons... Mysterious machines to cut shapes, in the big nearly dark room and a compressor, with a silvery gun and an orange tube, to blow away hair of the work from your clothes...

This long introduction just to tell you that mum still has some fabric and felt left from those days and I can't waste them, leaving them in the storage room! XD
Not being able (yet) to sew, I took just the little scraps, making earrings from them :-)

This are stud earrings. At the moment I'm still testing them: I want to be sure they don't break at first touch!

I like these ones a lot, I would like to make others like them, of different colours, what's your opinion? :-)

XD
To finish, these ones: side A and B of the same pair of earrings! I cut the heart shape myself, with one of those things to make shaped holes in paper... But I think it was really just for paper... My hands ached, when I finished cutting! XD

I hope you liked them!

Actually I would like to change the hooks, cos these ones leave the earrings a bit too rigid... Mmm... We'll see!

This evening, as soon as I arrive at home, I'll estract the name of the give away winner, good luck to all of you! :-D

> Braccialetto in cerca di affetto - Bracelet looking for love

This is a bit old, I can't remember if I showed you :-S
This poor little bracelet is made with green onyx and golden beads, and it has an antique copper closure...
I say "poor", cos no one wants it and I took it with me the whole summer at the markets and people never even looking at it :-(
Shame, cos I was so satisfied by the closure I made myself, with two ear hooks *.*

Ciao a tutti :-*

Sorry pictures aren't that good XD
I'm also here to remind you that tomorrow is the last day to partecipate to my give away, then Uapa, helped by the Yellow Silicone Cow, will estract the name of the winner :-)
Ciao to all of you :-*
